Sweetish Ranch Dressing (“white sauce”)

My favorite White Sauce – sort of like a Sweet Ranch dressing – good on everything but desserts.

I use this as a salad dressing for greens and fruits; it’s great on scrambled eggs – or eggs cooked any which way; it’s stupendous on cooked veggies; it’s a great way to thicken up any kind of sauce, or add an extra dimension to a tomato-sauce based dish, squirted from a squeeze bottle just before serving. Also makes a delicious base for crab cakes. It’s also great poured over a lunch made from leftover steak or roast beef, cut into small pieces and cooked with chopped veggies and some teriyaki sauce. It’s marvelous on meatballs.

All the following except the mayo can be adjusted to your liking:

  • 1 30-ounce jar of Hellman’s Light Mayo
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 1 T of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup of raw sugar
  • 1.5 T of McCormick Salad Supreme

Mix together with a whisk, then whisk in cold water until you get the consistency you want. Should be similar to a ranch dressing – creamy, but not too thick or runny. Will keep in the fridge for at least a couple of weeks.
